London-based freelance graphic designer helping your brand look its best

From brand strategy, logo design and brand guidelines to Squarespace website design, social media graphics, magazines, brochures and annual reports, I help growing businesses and marketing teams communicate clearly across every touchpoint.

My application to be your graphic designer

Hi, I’m Angela Lyons – but you can call me Ange. I’ve been a freelance graphic designersince April 2006 in my company Lyons Creative Limited. Before that I spent more than a decade working in agencies, corporate firms, reprographics and publishing agencies. And before that, I graduated from Central Saint Martins with a degree in Product Design. All this means I’m perfectly positioned to bring your brand to life.

Three facts about me.

1

I have a fear of certain shapes.

The medical term is Trypophobia, my skin goes cold if I see shapes with holes.

2

I relish a challenge.

I’ve completed The London Marathon and triathlons. The events are always so much fun, but the training is hard.

3

I love to learn.

For my work and within my personal life.
I’m an eternal student.

Speaking

Design is only half the story, I love talking about it too. Alongside my client work – I speak on design and running a small business, host the Creatives Like Us podcast and co-founded its sister live event. I regularly show up as a guest on other people's podcasts, panels and stages. If you're looking for a graphic design speaker or podcast guest here's where I've been and what I talk about:

  • Speaking on design and running a small business

  • Webinars and workshops delivered on design

  • Articles written on design, event reports and how-to guides

  • Co-host of Cowork Crew London

  • Facilitator of online co-working sessions

  • Mentor to design graduates at UAL, including speaking at their events

  • Adobe Express Ambassador

  • Guest on many podcasts, talking design, marketing and running a business

Be kind

Kindness is really important to me. Every year, I offer my services for a pro bono project. I’ve worked with charities, schools, my cycling club Black Women On Wheels and other non-profit organisations on creative projects like logo design, book design, design direction and website design.

If you need help from a graphic designer and would like me to consider taking on your pro bono project, just contact me with a bit more information about your organisation, your creative goals and any other useful bits and bobs.

I can’t make any promises, but I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

* I do love colour but don’t worry I can work to your guidelines. Promise it won’t be psychedelic (unless you want it to be).
